Description

In 1622 Johannes Schultz had his Musikalischer Lüstgarte printed, an anthology of 59 compositions for 2 to 8 voices, partly pure instrumental works, but partly also vocal works. For this edition we have selected 14 pieces for three voices, which can be played with two treble violas and one bass viol. It is an instrumental Passametz with ten variations, three secular Madrigals and a sacred Moteta . These simple, but compositionally well worked out pieces are well suited as an introduction to making music with this instrumentation.
